To streamline services, the Storey County Building Department is a dual office with the Planning Department. It oversees and regulates regional land use planning, administration and enforcement of various codes and regulations governing land use/development and the construction and alteration of buildings within the county. We are also responsible for the county’s Economic Development initiatives. Through this department, you can apply for a residential or commercial building permit, schedule an inspection and learn more about zoning and building codes.
