Administrative Clerk
STOREY COUNTY ASSESSORS OFFICE - FULL TIME
Position Title: Administrative Clerk I
Reports to: Storey County Assessor
Salary: Hourly - $18.77 + Benefits
The Position
The Storey County Assessors Office has an opening for an Administrative Clerk. An employee in this position will handle walk-in requests from the public and will be responsible for performing a broad range of duties that include data entry, filing, DMV duties, answering telephone calls and various other duties related to the operation of the Assessor’s Office.
Employee works under supervision of the Storey County Assessor or her designee. Service in this position requires availability Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Due to budget restraints lateral transfers will be a 113-1 regardless of current step and grade.

Requirements - Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
·         High school diploma or GED equivalent
·         Excellent customer service skills, ability to work well with the public and people who may be agitated
·         General knowledge of office procedures.
·         Basic skill in the operation of telephones, keyboards, computers, copier and other standard office equipment
·         Ability to speak and write the English language clearly and distinctly using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation
·         Ability to maintain simple clerical records
·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
·         Ability to prioritize tasks
·         Possession of a valid State of Nevada driver's license
·         Successful completion of an FBI fingerprint and background check
·         Successful completion of a written exam including basic mathematics, grammar and office functions.
·         Field work will require physical ability to traverse construction sites and other difficult terrain
·         Ability to lift 25 pounds

Storey County District Attorney’s Office – Victim Services Unit
                                                                                                                       
Administrative Assistant (Systems Advocate)
Temporary Part-Time - July 13, 2009 – December 31, 2009
 
Position Title:          Victim Services Unit Systems Advocate
Reports to:              VSU Coordinator, Storey County District Attorney’s Office
Salary:                       Hourly: $17.43  
 
The Victim Services Unit of the Storey County District Attorney Office is looking for a temporary part-time Administrative Assistant/Systems Advocate. An employee in this position will assist the VSU Coordinator as a Systems Advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Duties will include data entry, filing, answering phone calls, and direct victim assistance on scene and in court. 
 
Hours: 10 Hours per week; Monday and Tuesday, 12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., and Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. NOTE: This position will require availability for after-hours stand-by.  
 
Qualifications:
·        High School diploma or GED equivalent
·        Minimum of two (2) years experience and/or training in victim advocacy
·        Valid Driver’s License         
·        Accurately perform a broad range of clerical tasks, operate word processing software, multi-task, organize and prioritize
·        Speak the English language clearly and distinctly; communicate in a clear, concise manner, both orally and in writing
·        Assist victims and witnesses with various processes of criminal justice system, including resource referral, forms completion, and accompaniment to court
·        Establish, foster and maintain effective working relationships
·        Deal effectively with victims and witnesses in stressful situations
