The District Attorney's office works with law enforcement agencies to prosecute criminal cases involving felonies, gross misdemeanors, misdemeanors, felony DUI and fraudulent checks, on behalf of the People of Storey County. In criminal cases, the burden of proof lies with the District Attorney, and it is up to this office to prove guilt beyond a shadow of a doubt.

In addition, our office is committed to offering support for victims of crime, by helping them to obtain counseling or other assistance, and providing referrals to various community resources.

Our office also works with local businesses to prevent fraudulent check crimes, and to seek restitution. Our goal is to secure full payment to creditors victimized by fraudulent checks, and to see that defendants pay a mandated fine to the County.
