COUNTY EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLANS -- AND EVACUATION PLANS:
The Storey County Emergency Operations plan is available for review by any resident by contacting either the Fire Department or Emergency Management. County evacuation plans have been formulated and documented. Brochures were sent out to all Storey County residents explaining the evacuation plan, and containing maps that show where and how various locations in the county would evacuate, should it be necessary. These brochures continue to be available through either Storey County Fire Department (775-847-0954) or Storey County Emergency Management (775-847-0986). Evacuation plans are important for you to keep handy in your home and business. Evacuation plans for your domestic pets or large animals are also part of the county evacuation plans pursuant to Nevada law. However it is still encumbent on the homeowner to be prepared to ensure the safety of all your pets and animals.
Storey County has also been working with the State of Nevada to participate in the preparation of the statewide evacuation plan.
