Welcome to Storey County Business License Department.

As a division of both the Building & Planning and Economic Development departments, the Business License office is an integral partner in the economic growth of Storey County. Our office issues over 800 licenses each year, including renewals. Approximately one month before your business license expires each year, the Business License office will send you a renewal form, along with applicable fees.

In addition to issuing and renewing business licenses, our office offers assistance with business license applications, and directing the public toward the appropriate resources for obtaining any other required clearances or permits. This helps us regulate and control all business activity within the County and ensure that every business acts in accordance with county and state laws.

In the case of childcare businesses, brothels, door-to-door, escort, alarms, utilities or businesses requiring liquor or gaming licenses, application for a business license must be made to the Storey County Sheriff's Department.
