Court Fees

 

Pursuant to NRS 19.013, 19.020, 19.030, 19.031, NRS 2.250, NRS 440.605, Supreme Court Rule 48.1 and NRS 17.110, the Storey County Clerk shall charge and collect the following fees:

  • Appeals and Transfers – When filing an appeal with the Supreme Court, the party commencing the action is responsible for the following fees as well as others that may be required by the Supreme Court.

    • County District Court Fee:  $24

    • Supreme Court Fee:  $250

    • Notice of Cross Appeal;  $250

    • Petition for Extraordinary Writ:  $250

    • Criminal proceedings and habeas corpus petitions:  NO FEE

    • Petition for rehearing:  $150

    • Justice Court

      • Appeal to the District Court of any case from a Justice Court or a Municipal Court, or on the transfer of any case from Justice court or Municipal Court:  $82

    • Transfers

      • Transfers of any action or proceeding from a district court of another county, except probate or guardianship proceedings, to be paid by the party commencing the action, proceeding or transfer:  $84

  • Civil Complaints

    • On the commencement of any civil action for which a filing fee is required:  $156, plus an additional $30 for each additional plaintiff named in a complaint when the compliant is filed. If complaint is amended to name additional plaintiff, a fee of $30 for each additional plaintiff named when the complaint is amended.

  • Civil Answers

    • On the appearance of any defendant in addition to defendant named  $79, plus an additional $30 for each defendant who files an answer, or a fee of $30 for each additional party appearing in the action when the additional parties appear in the action.

  • Estates

    • Petition for letters testamentary, letters of administration, setting aside an estate without administration, or a guardianship, which fee includes the court fee prescribed by NRS 19.020, to be paid by the petitioner:

      • Where stated value is less than $2,500: no charge

      • Set aside without administration less than $2,500: no charge

      • Where the state value of the estate is more than $2,500 and not exceeding $25,000: $139

      • Summary Administration:

        • Value under $2,500: no charge

        • Value $2,500 or greater, not exceeding $200,000: $139

      • Petition to contest any will or codicil, to be paid by the petitioner: $79

      • Objection or cross-petition to the appointment of an executor, administrator or guardian, or an objection to the settlement of account or any answer in an estate or guardianship: $79

  • Family/Domestic Filings:

    • Annulment:  $125

    • Separate Maintenance:  $115

    • Divorce complaint with children/Joint Petition with children:  $145

    • Answer; divorce, annulment, or separate maintenance:  $73

    • Termination of Parental Rights:  $146

    • Petition compromise by parent or guardian for a non emancipated minor:  NO CHARGE

    • Petition for name change:  $156

    • Petition by minor for decree of emancipation:  $156

      • Regular Adoption: $94

      • Guardianship $139

    • Adoption: reduced fee for adoption of child with special needs (NRS 127.186) court fees shall be reduced to not more than $1

  • Miscellaneous Court Fees:

    • Judgment Roll:  $28

    • Jury Demand:  $320

    • Peremptory Challenge:  $300
