What is a plat map?
A plat consists of a map, drawn to scale, showing the divisions of a piece of land, city, town or village. Plat maps illustrate subdivisions, blocks, and parcels as identified in legal descriptions for property boundaries. Additionally, they typically display streets and other landmarks as well as identify the Assessor Parcel Number (APN) for a given property.
