Leash Laws

Storey County Animal Control officers ensure that domestic animals are under the owner’s control at all times in public locations. Dogs must either be on a leash or under voice command at all times. Of course, to avoid potential injury, owners must use their best judgment as to the safety of their dog being unrestrained. If the animal is at large, the owner will receive a citation and must make a court appearance at the Storey County Justice Court and may be required to pay a fine.
