Wildlife Assistance
Being a part of rural Nevada means we share our beautiful county with animals of every shape and size. Normally, this relationship between animals and people is quite peaceful. However, there are instances when a wild animal may be injured, is blocking traffic on a highway or may be intruding in a populated area. In those instances, we urge residents to contact the Sheriff's Office at (775) 847-0950 so that our office can tend to the animal and preserve the safety of both people and wildlife. Occasionally, our office enlists the support of State personnel and agencies such as the State Brand Inspector and the Bureau of Wildlife and Fish and Game whenever deemed appropriate.
