RENO DMV has opened WALK-IN services for STOREY COUNTY residents on TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS while the Virginia City branch is closed. Residents will have to provide proof of residence in Storey County to be able to access these services.

The Storey County Clerk/Treasurer's Office offers limited Vehicle Registration services as a courtesy to our residents. We are a small, busy office and can only accommodate our community of Storey County and local Lyon County residents. Services available include:

  • Renewals of existing registrations
  • New registrations for current Storey & Lyon County residents
  • Titles

Individuals should come prepared with all necessary paperwork and supporting documents to avoid being turned away. There is a maximum of 3 transactions per customer for each visit. For example, a Title, a Registration, and a Renewal are each a single transaction.

The Storey County Clerk/Treasurer’s office is able to accept cash, checks, credit and debit cards for DMV payments.

As a reminder, the Storey County Clerk's Office does NOT provide any services relating to Nevada identifications/driver’s licenses or any insurance sanctions/suspensions. Individuals needing such services need to contact a full-service DMV office for assistance. Please do not call our office with general DMV questions.

Occupancy is limited in our office. Vehicle Registration customers are asked to wait in the lobby until it is their turn.
