The Storey County Communications Center fields all emergency and non-emergency calls received by citizens and visitors of the area. Based on the nature of the call received, the department will direct the call to the appropriate county department and dispatch law enforcement, fire protection, and ambulatory services.

911 Emergency Calls
Storey County’s communication center answers all calls placed to 911 on land lines in the county. The dispatch center also handles 911 calls from cell phones that are routed to our dispatch center either by the cellular tower or from a neighboring county’s dispatch center.

Dispatch
Our communications specialists dispatch ambulance, police, and fire services depending upon the nature of the call received.

Emergency Notification System
The Global Connect Notification System is a method that allows mass notification of Storey County residents and businesses in emergency situations.

Non-Emergency Calls
In addition to fielding emergency calls, the Storey County Communications Center also answers and processes non-emergency and administrative calls.
