The Storey County Department of Emergency Management has many aspects to it, as it represents the interests of our residents, businesses, and visitors.

Working closely with all public safety aspects of the county, SCDEM works to formulate the planning and response processes for all types of hazards, emergencies, disasters, or events that may impact the well being and lifestyles enjoyed in the county.

Mission Statement
To provide a comprehensive plan for the citizens and visitors of Storey County for emergency preparedness and to provide assistance, leadership, and direction in the mitigation of, response to, and recovery from local, state, and national disasters, either natural, technological, or man-made, in order to save lives, protect property, and reduce the effects of disasters.
