Storey County deputies strive to ensure that domestic animals are under the owner’s control at all times in public locations. Dogs must either be on a leash or under voice command at all times.

Of course, to avoid potential injury, owners must use their best judgment as to the safety of their dog being unrestrained. If the animal is at large, the owner may receive a citation and make a court appearance at the Storey County Justice Court. Fines or other sanctions may be imposed by the court.
