The Storey County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for business license applications and renewals for:

• Alarms
• Brothels
• Businesses requiring liquor or gaming licenses
• Childcare businesses
• Door to door
• Escort
• Establishments that serve alcohol
• Utilities

All other Business License Applications/Renewals are handled through the Business Licenses Department. You must obtain a business license from Storey County if you are conducting business, or if your business is based in Storey County.

A license is required for each location of business and is not transferable to another individual. Licenses are transferable when there is a change of ownership, business location, or trade name.

You may obtain a Storey County Business License Application in person at our office or download a printable copy of the appropriate Business License Application, based on your business type.

When your license is approved, your business license will be mailed to the business address listed on your application.
