Mine Tours
Rides aboard the revitalized Virginia & Truckee Railroad meander into the hills of a once thriving gold and silver mining community and are another favorite excursion. And if you’d like to see a mine up close and personal, you can take a guided tour of the Chollar Mine, which was the Comstock’s 5th largest producer, or the Best & Belcher Mine at the Ponderosa. Both mines demonstrate complete mine operations.
